Tales from Plaguelands
<<Horror of Sorrow Hill>>
The old road to the inner Lordaeron was dusty and in bad shape. Not many adventurers have the skill neither talent to travel this road that leads to the lands that are now known as Plaguelands. Idori, the strong Commander of Inquisitors of Lordaeron, one of the few that had the needed skills to survive in those once peaceful lands that where now full of horrors beyond our imagination. Bears that had their natural skin rotten straight to their flesh and the blood that dripped from their wounds was neither red or black, it was like the red black sky above these lands.
Her horse nervously continued walking the old dusty road, the rotten stink that came from the lands Idori was about to enter made tears come from her ayes. Cleaning her ayes with the white blanked she brought with her, she noticed that her horse had the same problem. Cleaning her horses ayes from the tears too she placed the blanked back to her main backpack. Soon after this she arrived to the only Alliance camp you could find in these plagued lands. A wooden prance made from solid oak was nailed to dead tree that laid near the camp. Idori approached the sing and read- Chill wind Camp.
The camp was build behind burned inn. Only few walls from the inn stood to remind that once there was something in these lands. The sing was no where to be found.
Few members from the Argent Dawn stood in front of one tent moving big sturdy boxes full of small stones. Some other Argent Dawn group was just leaving the camp and headed to the north. Idori didn’t bother her mind with these things, dismounting from her horse and leading it to the stables that had room only for 2 or 3 horses. The stables where free so she left her horse there to be taking care of by a man that looked like stable master.
After that she moved trough the camp and meted with the current Argent Dawn captain. Handing the letter she was ordered to deliver here the captain took the letter without hesitate, quickly started to read it. Idori was about to leave when a voice behind asked. Leaving so soon ? . Turning face to face with the AD Captain she answered: Was thinking so. The captain entered the tent and returned with something in her fist. The captain approached Idori and gave her a strange looking jewelry.
The jewel was slightly glowing a white light and had the Argent Dawn symbol crafted to it. It was well suited for earring. Holding the jewel in her hand she was about to ask what is this jewel, but the captain had already seen the asking look in Idoris face and pointed at the box that was full of small stones and rocks.
-What do you see the captain asked.
-Stones and rocks. Idori answered still having the asking look on her face.
-Hold the jewel tight in your arm and look carefully.
Idori hold the jewel tightly in her fist and took a look at the stone again. The jewel started to glow a bright white glow and in Idori’s ayes the stones took new forms. Some of the stones had a skeleton head marked on them and some few had golden purple skull crafted to them. After coming back to her senses she dropped the jewel to the ground and in front of her ayes the stones took their normal stone look again.
While picking up the jewel from the ground that didn’t have any grass she asked the captain.
-What is this thing?
- The captain seemed to have fun seeing Idoris look when the stones took their real form. Smiling through her helmet she answered.
-That jewel as you have seen, is not just a jewel. It’s the Argent Dawns commission.
Avery adventurer that has the courage to enter these lands receives one. And these stones are in reality SgourgeStone . And the commission jewel will let you see the ScourgeStones in the Sgourges troops. Avery undead carries a sgourgestone. The Sgourgestone is sigh of the units postion and rank.
-Watching the stones and the commission jewel Idori mumbled.
And where do you need me?
-Ahh..you see theres a village just east from here, one of our scouts went to see this village, but didn’t return. We pay you well if you find him for us, or what is left from him. His name is Garik.
Idori never thought to stay here for long, but after hearing the word*we pay you well* her interested crow. Feeling her hunger and knowing that her currency situation wasn’t going to good direction she accepted the deal.
Leaving her horse to Chillwind Camp she packed her gear and started walking the road straight to north east. The direction that this little town was supposed to be. The air there wasn’t doing good for her so it seemed that leaving her horse to Chill Wind camp was a good idea. After a short walk in the daying forest, she approached the town gate. The gate was blackened iron and steel. The ground was hard as a rock, grass grew only in places that where were not passable. Trees had the same look as the trees in Silverpine forest. The fog in the air was green and you could hardly see anything. Carefully passing through the rusty gate she walked to the street of the little town. Near the gate she saw a tall building that seemed to be the town’s former inn.
As Approaching the inn she kept her hand on the shaft of her sword, ready to slash anything that would jump out from the ground, air and from the fog. Near the entrance of the inn there was a little graveyard just next to the inn. Because the fog , Idori didn’t see pretty much. But the stories about Zombies jumping from their graves and eating the their foes kept Idori from going to the graveyard. Forcing her mind back to the inn in front of her, she entered the inn.
As most of the inn’s this one wasn’t special. Well..the other inns are clean and have proper tables and chairs, cheerful music and laughing folks sitting in front of fire telling and hearing tales from the past. This one had nothing but the stench of death in it. Fire place wasn’t been used since the last evacuators left Lordaeron. Innkeeper wasn’t there to greet tired adventurers offering them hot meal and refreshing drink.
Dust covered most of the inn, it was silent. Suddenly Idori smelt rotting meat somewhere near her. Approaching a closed closet on the other side of the inn, the stench grew stronger. Just from 1m from the closet she took closer look at the closet in front of her.
-Must be just some old meat closet. After saying this she turned her back to the closet and took few steps.
Suddenly something hit the closet door from inside it. Idori quickly turned 360 decrees and looked at the closet. What ever most be inside it, must be locked inside it for a good reason. After this, just for few sec she though to leave this for the Argent Dawn and run the hell out from this town. She never had time for that. Straight after this the closet’s door was smashed wide open by a second punch. And from the darkness of the closet. A pair of glowing ayes stared at her. Being able to do nothing in the fear she just stood there staring this horror’s ayes. And then the owner of those ayes took 2 steps out from the closet. Now Idori sow it completely. A ghoul with glowing ayes, its cloths where covered in its owners dry blood, the ears where cut off, and the rest that was left of them didn’t help the ghoul hear anything , it still had it owners humanoid look. Staring each other, they waited that their opponent would make his/her first mistake. Still not having draw her sword, Idori slowly crapped the hilt of her sword. And as she did that the ghoul charged at her. Idori didn’t manage to grap her sword in time and as the ghoul claw like hand scratched her left hand (not the sword hand, Idori is right handet) and throwing Idori on the floor. As her left hand bleeding she tried to get up, but the pain in her arm didn’t let that happen. While trying to get up the ghoul crapped Idori with it’s both hands and throw her through the window.
-Walking on the desert and following the footsteps left to the sand she thought the things she had done in her life.
The separation from her parents, the joining to the Inquisition, and now this…
On the desert as she walk, there was nothing. Sandy hills after other sandy hill.
But then she saw execution stage, slowly following the footsteps on the sand she approached the stage. Closer she get to the stage that darker did everything change.
As she step to the execution stage she was forced down by someone. When she looked up she sow nothing, but executioner and the Dark Moon.
Slowly the executioner raised its corrupted sword, one slice and Idori would not be anymore. Before the blow Idori sow someone face behind the black mask…..her own face.
Screaming did she woke from her dream and found herself lying on the road of Sorrow Hill, looking around her she sow her sword lying few feet behind her.
But did she find herself lying few feet from the ghoul too.
Thinking no more she run to her sword, followed by the ghoul. She quickly crapped the sword from the ground, raised it…and the ghoul had run to her sword, impaling itself. Cold blood flow to Idori’s hands from ghouls deep wound. The sword had impaled the ghoul with devastating blow, but in the ghouls ayes Idori could read the words: Finish....it…..later Idori wasn’t so sure what did the ghould actually say the her, but never the les. After the ghoul had *spoken to her* she pushed the sword deeper to the ghouls flesh, more blood flowed from the wound. Few moments before Idori had come fully to her senses the ghoul was down. Looking her enemy Idori pulled her sword out from the corpse. There she was, in plaguelands and below her, the first enemy she had slain there….
Ps. The loot sucked
