Baby steps people.
i know we'd all love to go to ZG but in thinking about it are we actually equiped for it?
of all our level 60's who has a full tier 0 or 0.5 set? i dont. got 2 parts 0 1 part 0.5
got a good MH dagger, AV electrified dagger, and an ok OH dagger, dire nail of agi.
what we need to do is concentrate on being able to run often and easily BRD/Strat/scholo/BRS upper and lower.
i have the quest for the key for UBRS, but no gems as of yet but intend to farm them soon. this would be greatly increased by guild effort.
I'm not just saying this from my Point of view, we ALL need good equipement. tanks should be aiming for +def and stam, heroisim 0.5 set by all accounts has a few nice bits but theres more than just that from place's like DiM.
What im suggesting is that most nights we farm these lower level instance's for our needed items, and stockpile the ones we get for other lower level characters.
example:
5man group farms LBRS without me (just an example pls shhh =P) SC belt drops, no rogue there needs/no rogue at all.
it gets sent to guild bank and a note on forums is made saying that it was added and can be requested that or in /g at the time say "OMFGWTFBBQ SC BELT!!!!!!111111" ahem, and alert those that may need it.
Like i said, this is an idea. it worked for me with my MT on another server our guild was no larger than 15 men and we farmed UBRS most weekends with 10men. (admittadly we were a group of friends or friends of friends which worked well =P )
feel free to say something but just remember, babys crawl before they run.
Allisara (sorry for spelling buts its 12:30ish, and im tired =P )

Just added Calendar mod to the guild to help organise such runs

I will join soon, in 2 levels. Though i will be some special add to the guild, i am mostly a DPS warrior so i rather take the offensive plates which being dropped. If it will be really needed i will tank some, so most of my tanking equip rolls are greed anyway.

Good point.
As an example: I have completed the Strat Baron run 5 times since the 5 man cap and have seen the Lightforge legplates drop 3 times and on none of these occasions was there a pally in the group. The Baron has promised to give me his mount to compensate for not dropping the valor piece - will have to go and fetch it soon.
Furthermore I want to the complete Tier 0 so that I can upgrade as the Tier 0.5 set has some nice pvp stats for an arms/fury warrior. I have some decent tanking gear that I have picked up elsewhere. However, Drakki, the Herald and the Baron just seem to refuse to drop the Valor pieces!
I support your idea - especially as it is going to take a group of people that know each other well to run Strat in 45 mins.

I would never do baron run with rogue unless the main healer is epic user or we have 2 healers I failed many times because of rogues.
Group to Baron should look like: Tank , Pala , Healer , Mage , Lock (imo best!)
Rogues can't fight baron because either they die due to his aoe or die due to skieletons spamm. Healer can't handle both rogue (who dies fast there) and tank (who takes MASIVE HITS even when nicely geared).
Baron is the hardest boss now for 5 man no doubt
I did smooth baron run with Tank Pala Priest Druid Rogue but we had lots of Holy water and bombs. If you dont kill skieletons instantly , baron heals off them

I never had problems with 5man strat baron. Always had sober people who knew what they were doing. Pala, Warrior(me),rogue, mage, priest/ resto druid and we did smooth run.

In order to complete a baron run you can do it with any classes, it is the player not the character that is the defining force.
You need a tank to keep the Baron occupied - Druid, Paladin, Warrior
You need a healer to keep the tank up - Paladin, Priest, Druid
You need a dedicated AoE caster to deal with the skelly spawns - a mage with instant Arcane Explosion (which all mages will have after 1.11 patch), Warlock, Priest (I think)
You need ranged attacks to DPS the baron down, which can dump agro quickly if it is taken from the tank - Rogue (vanish), Hunter (Feign Death).
As for hunters failing in instances, that is purely down to them not controlling their pets, pulling to much agro with shots and poor pulling techniques. A hunter on the top of his game can become
One of the easiest runs in LBRS 5 man I have ever done was with a rogue, 2 hunters a druid and me (a mage). Granted it was due to pure Crowd Control abilities but hunters played right are invaluable (as are all classes when played right)

My most successful Baron runs are: Warrior, Priest, Mage, Lock, Paladin
Second choice is: Warrior, Priest, Mage, Hunter, Lock
Paladin is always nice: dps, heal, ress! Especially if the healer is taken down. Priest and warrior essential. Mage makes the whole job easy.
The trick to taking down the Baron is: Warrior: Sunder (other agro spells as well) and mortal strike. Mortal strike reduces his healing to 50% for 10 seconds. This helps a lot as the skeletons heal him. Priest: Focus on healing warrior Mage: Focus on adds, occasional bolt at the baron.
Then mana drain him as well. Quick to take him down.

I have started the 45 min Baron Quest (not that I have the required Valor items as the Baron still refuses to drop my legplates!) - and am interested in how the rest of the guild are progressing.
My best complete run was approx 47 mins to the Baron (needing to engage him in 45) on 01/05. This was the fourth time I had attempted it.
02/05: Managed to make it to the 3rd boss 6 mins quicker on two occasions but our exuberance got the better of us and we wiped on both occasions. First time the mage managed to draw almost all mobs near the fountain – not sure which spell he was using. Second time the hunter’s pet drew the 2 bats on patrol, which subsequently draw two the ghoul mobs as well.
Hoping to try again this week with the same group: DPS Warrior/Tank (me), Priest, Paladin (Holy Spec), Hunter and Frost Mage.

When I had a rogue, I killed Baron in a 5 man group many times - it's easy. Rogue just has to be smart enough to bandage now and then. Admittedly I was a Combat rogue, and with Adrenaline Rush I could get my DPS through the roof, but even so I think it's rough to rule rogues out completely ^_^
